Fire Humor

From Diane Bell's Column in the San Diego Union/Tribune:

...Amid the rubble of the once-proud Rue Finisterre in Scripps Ranch, fire victims made the best of a terrible situation, recorded by photographer Paul Nestor. On one blackened front-door frame, all that remained standing, the homeowner had tacked a note: "Doorbell is broken, please knock." Other houses announced, "Fire sale – half off" and "Come in, the door is open." As Richard Berlin surveyed the charred remains of his home, a neighbor in similar straits stopped by and observed, "I think we must have used the same architect!"
